Thanks to some $35 Skybus tickets, our family decided to make a trip to Portland Maine and Boston Massachusetts for Spring Break.  Along the way, the kids visited 5 states for the first time (New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut).

  • Camp Robindel - where Julie worked for two summers. Not good camping weather on the day we arrived.
  • Playing Webkinz in the hotel was a popular use of time.
  • The view from our hotel room in Portland, Maine
  • Colorful boat in Portland
  • The Custom House in Portland, Maine. We had borrowed a book from the library that told a story of how the Custom House in Boston had visited this one.
  • We believe this is the house Mike first lived in after being born.
  • Where Mike was born.
  • Approaching Bunker Hill Monument.
  • The view of Boston from atop Bunker Hill Monument - about 296 steps to climb to the top.
  • On board the USS Constitution
  • On several occasions, we followed the Freedom Trail - here to the USS Constitution
  • Climbing fun in the Boston Children's Museum
  • Matthew using soap voluntarily
  • The Custom House in Boston.
  • One of Matthew's favorite places in Boston
  • We had two meals at Quincy Market, including Easter lunch at a Bertucci's Pizza
  • We visited Plymouth Plantation. This is a house built by the Wapanoag people
  • Matthew prepares for battle
