Thanks for sharing your thoughts Mike. Sounds like an interesting situation. I had not imagined getting a merchant account could be such a barrier.

Mike,

Thank you for posting this follow-up. There is nothing more important to us than doing things right and taking care of our customers. Immediately after I saw your tweet, I called the sales rep that was working with you to gain context of the situation. I then called your partner Mike Blackwell to better understand what happened. After listening to both sides, I can see where the disconnect and miscommunication happened on both sides. The rep and I discussed the things we can do to prevent this from happening again. To his credit, the rep you were working with does an unbelievably good job working with merchants in this very complicated industry. He was sick to his stomach that this happened and wanted to do whatever he could to fix it. I apologize that this happened and appreciate your measured follow up response.

You could do that too, but that also comes with other side effects. For example, we have a post-commit hook setup on git to notify a Campfire room every time a shared commit is made. The intent is for us to use that to notify each other when "new and interesting stuff is available". If I'm pushing my personal work through github, it adds some noise to that signal.

Is there any reason why you couldn't create your own branch on origin, and tell your team "don't touch!"?

Looks like a pretty cool presentation -- thanks for taking the time to explain metric_fu to others. If anyone is interested in the future of metric_fu or just want to get some help, the metric_fu google group is at: http://groups.google.com/group/metric_fu. I just posted directions how to take a look at the release candidate with some hot new features.

Hmm. This comment has become bit self-promotional when I really just meant it to be a thank you. Oh well.

I recommend you don't pollute the toplevel namespace with a toplevel include:

include CukeAssociationHelpers

Instead, extend the world as described here:
http://wiki.github.com/aslakhellesoy/cucumber/a-whole-new-world

I also think it's gem sources --add http://gems.github.com
